In July 2018, Orchard Software celebrates its 25th anniversary. Through years of steady growth, we have gained specialized experience by actively listening to our customers and to industry needs. To ring in our 25th anniversary, we are proud to present our new company and product logos, as well as the “freshening up” of Orchard Resource Central (ORC) and our website. Check out some of our new logos below.
The Story behind Orchard
Orchard Software was founded in Indianapolis on July 1, 1993, with its first version of a laboratory information system (LIS), Costello™. By 2000, Orchard had 250 customers, had renamed Costello Orchard® Harvest™ LIS, and had added a web-based outreach product, Orchard® Copia®. In 2003, we celebrated 10 years of success with approximately 40 employees and 450 clients, and we were awarded the Top 20 Year-end Best in KLAS award in the Community Hospital Clinical and Ancillary Solutions category. By 2005, we had released our integrated Anatomic Pathology system and reached 650 clients.
Continuing to grow at a steady pace, as of January 2018, Orchard had 250 employees and more than 1,500 clients. Our talented and dedicated team continues to build upon lessons learned within the healthcare informatics industry. We are currently developing our enterprise-wide LIS, Orchard® Sequoia™, built on the newest technology platforms, and are having great success with Orchard® Trellis™, our POCT management and integration software. By helping laboratories across the United States demonstrate their value and contribution to patient care, and by celebrating a culture of work/life balance and innovation, Orchard has grown into a company where both employees and customers alike can be proud to call Orchard home.
The ORC Is Becoming…the ORC
With every intention of continuing to support our customers, we continue to improve and grow. On July 1, we launched the new ORC. What was called the Orchard Resource Center is now Orchard Resource Central. It will still be the “ORC” you rely on, but we have improved our product documentation system with better tools that allow you to self-manage your account and access online help and product information.
In addition, as of July 1, Orchard’s corporate website at www.orchardsoft.com has a fresh new look.
Expanded Product Center in the Works
In addition to the ORC and website changes, we are beginning to transition our product documentation to the ORC. Once there, our software will link users to this centralized online help location. Trellis already uses this system, and Copia users will see this change when they upgrade to the January 2018 (or later) software release.
These are exciting changes that will enhance your access to product documentation, including expanded technical and user manual sections, embedded eLearning videos, and improved search capabilities.
